When and where are the events?
We'll be having 3 events in Santa Clara and Burlingame, CA on August 30th and 31st, 2025.
See our Home page or Schedule of Events page for more detailed event information.
Can I bring a Plus One?
We’ve done our best to accommodate as many guests as possible while keeping things intimate. If your invitation includes a plus-one, you’ll see that option when you RSVP.
Don’t have one but hoping to bring a guest? Just reach out to us. We’re happy to talk and will do our best to make it work!
What should I wear to the Haldi?
We recommend Semi-Formal attire for an outdoor event- think garden party! Guests typically wear bright and festive clothing, usually in shades of yellow, orange, or pink. Western or Indian attire are both completely acceptable!
What should I wear to the Mehendi?
Semi-formal/ Cocktail attire of any type is perfect for this event, but shades of green and blue are the most typical. If you want to get henna applied, we suggest wearing short sleeves or something with easy-to-roll-up sleeves. Western or Indian attire are again both completely acceptable!
What should I wear to the wedding?
Formal/ Cocktail attire. Think suits, ties, kurtas, saris, cocktail dresses, or gowns. We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone looking their best!
I want to wear Indian clothes! Where can I buy them?
We recommend Kalki Fashion (and specifically their wedding guest attire section at https://www.kalkifashion.com/ethnic/indian-wedding-guest-dresses.html), Aza Fashions, Lashkaraa, or Pernia's Pop-Up.
Where should I stay?
Please see the "Travel" tab of the website for lodging and transportation information. We will continue to update it with additional options closer to the wedding date.
Do you have a registry?
Yes! If you'd like to celebrate with a gift, you can find our registry under the registry tab of our website (https://www.coopjakta.com/us/prajakta-sirasao-and-cooper-temple-aug-2025/registry). There is no need to bring presents to any of the pre-wedding events!
What is a Haldi Ceremony?
The Haldi ceremony is a joyful pre-wedding ritual where family and friends apply a mixture of turmeric, sandalwood, and rose water to the bride and groom. This tradition is believed to bless the couple with radiant skin, protect them from evil, and bring good fortune for their upcoming marriage.
Our Haldi will be an outdoor brunch event with dosas and mimosas served for guests.
What is a Mehendi Ceremony?
The Mehendi ceremony will be a colorful and fun-filled event, where intricate henna designs will be drawn on Praj's hands and feet. It’s believed that the darker the henna, the stronger the love between the couple, and the longer it lasts, the more blessings and luck the marriage will have.
Our event will be a cocktail hour with small plates. Guests will also have the chance to have small henna designs drawn on them and the opportunity to access all of the amazing exhibits featured at the museum.
When and how do I RSVP?
We sent formal invitations and RSVP requests in May/June. You can RSVP here on our website under the "RSVP" tab!
